Transport

The flat is in Zone 2

The Transport for London website is good, and you can search it for routes and modes of transport (see the Journey Planner section of Getting Around), so you can see how long it will take you to walk, cycle or take the bus or whatever from place to place

See http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/default.aspx

On Foot

Within 15 minutes walk:

The Kings Road, Battersea Park and riverside walks, much of Chelsea, Clapham Junction train station, Cadogan Pier river taxi service by Albert Bridge.

Within 30 minutes walk:

The full length of The Kings Road to Sloane Square, the Underground stations of Sloane Square, South Kensington, Gloucester Road, Earls Court and Fulham Broadway. The V&A, Natural History, Science and Geology Museums.

Bicycles

There is room for two bikes in the hall of the flat.  I use a bike much of the time.  It’s quick and you know how long it will take to get somewhere.  It takes 10 or 12 minutes to get to Sloane Sq or South Kensington or Earls Court tube stations. Its 20 minutes to Parliament Square, and 25 mins to the West End.

Tubes

The closest tube is South Kensington, but Sloane Square and Earls Court are about the same distance.  The buses connect with these stations (estimate 10-15 minutes).  You can walk to any of these in about 30 minutes, or its 12 minutes on a bicycle.

For timetables and last trains etc see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/default.aspx

Trains

Victoria Station is direct by bus (15 minutes on the No 239), and so is Clapham Junction (a 15 minute walk away).  Battersea Park station is the other side of the park.  There will be lots of info online.

River Taxi (Cadogan Pier)

This would be a great way to go to work!  Cadogan Pier is the Chelsea side of the Albert Bridge, about 12 minutes walk along the river.  It’s about 15 mins to Embankment and 25 mins to Blackfriars.

Wandsworth (Riverside Quarter) – Chelsea Harbour – Cadogan Pier – Embankment – Blackfriars

For timetables see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/1131.aspx

Cars

Parking is pretty good.  Each adult in the flat can have a free parking permit for the estate (the car must be registered at the flat).  What this means is that you can’t always find a parking space below the tower but  included in the rent is the use of a lock-up garage on the estate.

The extended Congestion Zone begins the other side of Chelsea Embankment across Battersea Bridge.
